The MPA is fully supportive of wider industry initiatives to reduce the unlicensed use of our member’s works and to guide consumers towards legitimate services that help grow the UK’s music market.
We have a specific and specialised interest in helping reduce the unlicensed copying of printed sheet music. In August 2016, the MPA joined forces with PIPCU (the City of London Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit) as part of Operation Creative – an initiative designed to disrupt and prevent websites from providing unauthorised access to copyrighted content. We have also established a dedicated MPA/PMLL Legal Issues and Anti-Piracy Group, capable of advising on any pressing legal issues and inputting into our anti-piracy strategy.
