MSB2B Licence Consultation Launched by PRS for Music

PRS for Music is holding a public consultation on proposed updates to their licensing scheme for Music Services (B2B) suppliers, currently known as the Supply of Background Music Services (MSB2B) Licence. The licence covers the exploitation of mechanical and performing rights.

The market has changed significantly since the existing scheme was introduced in 2008, and a revised approach is being consulted upon to better reflect today’s landscape.

We are encouraging our MPA Publisher Members to read the proposal and provide their valuable input to help shape the next iteration of the licence.

The consultation closes on 7 August 2025, so please respond as soon as possible.
