Jan 07 2022 News MPA and PMLL react to Ofqual suggestion to suspend music teaching 0 shares On Thursday 6th January, Lucie Caswell, Chief Policy, Rights and Public Affairs Officer, MPA and Viki Smith, Managing Director, PMLL released a joint statement reacting to Ofqual‘s suggestion to suspend music teaching in the event of high staff absences to due the Covid-19 pandemic. They said: “We are alarmed at Ofqual’s ill-advised suggestion of sidelining music. Music is essential and fuels achievement at school age, benefiting STEM progress, creative thinking and whole-child development. Music alleviates today’s serious mental pressures on young people; it enables expression, connection and confidence. Do not undermine young progress.
