We are delighted to announce that applications for the 2018 Richard Toeman Scholarship (RTS) are now open.

The MPA is proud to provide the RTS as part of our educational and outreach initiatives and since the scholarship was established in 2006 it has supported two outstanding candidates each year within the music publishing sector. One scholarship is awarded to someone with less than five years’ experience in the business and to one final year student or recent graduate.

Both recipients will receive free or discounted entry to MPA training and professional development courses, invitations to MPA socials and quizzes and will also receive £500 towards further training or professional career coaching of their choice. For the final year student or recent graduate, the scholarship will also assist in securing a relevant work placement.

Full details of the scheme are now available on the MPA website, with entries closing on Friday 20th April 2018. The two successful applicants will be announced at the MPA AGM in June 2018.

We encourage applicants to apply sooner rather than later. You can read more and apply here.

Antonia Gilham, General Manager of the MPA says “The MPA is passionate about nurturing and advocating the next generation of music publishers. The scholarship continues to draw the brightest, most diverse new talent in the British industry and previous RTS recipients reflect just this. From working at major international publishing companies to independent boutique publishers, past awardees have gone above and beyond.’’

Levi Deeble RTS 2017 recipient says “When I got the call inviting me to come down to London and accept the Richard Toeman Scholarship, I was completely taken aback. Receiving the RTS alongside the encouragement and guidance of the MPA team I am no longer clueless about the music publishing…the MPA has given me the confidence to be myself and dive into the world of publishing.”
