Introduction

The MPA and its subsidiaries consider maintaining high ethical standards of paramount importance and, therefore, we take an uncompromising stance against slavery and human trafficking. This statement sets out the ways in which we, our subsidiaries and all parts of our supply chain prevent such practices in the course of our business.
Our structure

The MPA exists to safeguard and enhance the rights of music publishers and the creators we represent, using education, collaboration and communication. The MPA has two subsidiary collection societies:

Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society Limited (MCPS) – MCPS is the UK collection society that licenses mechanical (or reproduction) copyrights on behalf of over 26,000 music publisher and composer members; and

Printed Music Licensing Limited (PMLL) – PMLL provides one licensing scheme that allows schools to make copies of printed music publications and to arrange the musical works embodied in printed music publications.

Our policies

The MPA keeps and maintains a number of internal policies via the MPA’s Employee Handbook and has staff members dedicated to legal compliance to mitigate the risk of being in breach of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Furthermore, due to the nature of our business and our approach to governance, we assess that we have a low risk of being in breach of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
