PMLL EXTENDS AGREEMENT WITH DEPARTMENT FOR EDUCATION (DfE)

PMLL is pleased to announce that it has recently negotiated with the Department for Education, England (DfE) to extend the terms of the Schools Printed Music Licence (SPML).

This new agreement now covers the digital exploitation of sheet music, with an appropriate uplift in tariff to include streaming sheet music to a smart board within a classroom via a platform or visualiser. We remain dedicated to ensuring that the SPML remains fit for purpose and reflects the ever evolving ways teachers use sheet music within the classroom.

The extension to the licence will run alongside the current DfE agreement which expires in March 2026 with an increase in income of c25%.

All PMLL members have been requested to sign a mandate to allow these rights to be included within the licence. If you have not done so yet, please submit the mandate to [email protected], Managing Director, PMLL as soon as possible.
