We are looking for a full-time employee for our Boosey & Hawkes Promotion team.   We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us in this diverse and dynamic area of work. The post will be based in our London office.

Department Objective

To increase royalty revenue by promoting B&H composers and their works.

Job Summary

  • Working with the Head of Publicity and Marketing in promoting B&H composers and repertoire via all available channels
  • actively seeking press coverage and liaising with promoters and journalists
  • promoting B&H choral catalogue
  • running B&H and composer social media accounts
  • maintaining the performance database
  • creating the performance calendar and choral enewsletter
  • managing the photographic library and press archive
  • assisting with content on the company website

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Active press promotion to raise profile of house composers, including liaison with journalists and press agents, provision of scores, recordings and information
  • Running of social media accounts for Boosey & Hawkes London and leading composers including Igor Stravinsky, Sir Karl Jenkins and Sir James MacMillan; creation of social media content including posts, images, videos
  • Performances: responsibility for maintenance of database of performances, in conjunction with New York and Berlin offices; distribution of performance reports to composers; using Adobe InDesign to create 3 printed performance calendars a year
  • Choral promotion of B&H sales product to choral directors; creation of 3 choral enewsletters a year using DotDigital email platform; attendance at concerts and conventions
  • Assisting with content preparation for the company website, maintaining CMS databases and using Adobe Photoshop to create web images
  • Composer archive: collection of reviews from daily and periodical press for distribution to composers; databasing of material and sending for archive scanning
  • Photographic library: responding to photo requests from promoters and press; maintenance and exploitation of image library
  • Contact management: maintenance of marketing database of contacts and profiling information on Maximizer CRM platform
  • Accounts: progressing invoices and record-keeping of expenditure
  • Distribution of promotional literature and resources as required
  • Dealing with email, phone and social media enquiries as required
  • Taking minutes of meetings as required
  • Any other duties as required within the Promotion Department

Experience
Would suit a skilled graduate pursuing a career in music publishing, arts administration, marketing or communications

Skills and Attributes Required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Wide musical knowledge and passion for 20th century and 21st century contemporary classical music
  • Good understanding of and interest in digital media, particularly social media platforms
  • Comfortable handling CRM and CMS databases
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail
  • Efficient and fast-working, while also thorough and methodical
  • Organised, able to multi-task and prioritise
  • Able to think laterally and anticipate
  • Personable, tactful and sensitive to requirements of clients
  • Self-directed, pro-active and a flexible, willing team member, performing all duties to a high standard

Desirable Skills

  • At least two years of demonstrable work experience in classical music administration, marketing or communications
  • Experience working with high profile clients
  • Knowledge of choral repertoire and market

Salary

Competitive depending on experience, with additional annual discretionary bonus
