About Stainer & Bell
Founded in 1907, Stainer & Bell is a traditional music publisher with a progressive outlook and a dedicated, forward-looking staff. We are well known for our early twentieth-century works by esteemed composers including Holst, Howells, Stanford and Vaughan Williams, the basis of an important catalogue garnered from the rich harvest of British choral, orchestral and chamber music spanning three centuries. We are also internationally recognized for our distinguished collected editions and contemporary hymnody, and for keenly promoting and supporting a new and diverse generation of composers writing for today and for tomorrow.

The Role
Our busy hire library supplies full scores, parts and vocal materials to orchestras, choirs and opera houses around the world.

The Hire Library Manager will take responsibility for all aspects of the department, including promoting the catalogue of rental works, providing quotations, contracts and invoices, communicating with overseas agents, arranging for despatch of materials, maintaining library stock, and representing the company at meetings of hire librarians across the industry. In addition, the successful applicant will administer our archive service, liaising with customers, providing quotations, and producing print-on-demand titles from our extensive collection.

Musical literacy (in terms of notation and knowledge of the repertoire), a firm command of English language and usage, strong numeracy and first-rate computer skills will be essential for this position. The chosen candidate will also have a well-organized and flexible approach, including the ability to manage several projects and priorities concurrently.

Applications with CV by email to [email protected], or by post to Stainer & Bell Ltd, 23 Gruneisen Road, London N3 1LS.

Stainer & Bell is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to supporting diversity in our workforce.
