Sep 10 2020 News ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING LAUNCH BEYOND THE MUSIC INITIATIVE 0 shares Attitude is Everything have recently launched the Beyond the Music initiative, a three-year programme which aims to tackle the barriers Deaf and disabled people face around employment and volunteering within the music industry. The programme launches with a survey open to any Deaf and disabled person, working in, or aspiring to work in, the music industry and the responses will play a key part in shaping the programme over the next three years. Findings from Arts Council England show just 4% of staff at National Portfolio Organisations, and just 1.8% of staff at music industry organisations, consider themselves to be disabled. This is a significant disparity from the UK’s general population, where 19% of working adults are considered disabled under the Equality Act. Read more here and contribute to the survey here.
