The MPA is proud to provide the Richard Toeman Scholarship (RTS) as part of our educational and outreach initiatives and since the scholarship was established in 2006 it has supported two outstanding candidates each year.

One scholarship is awarded to someone with less than five years’ experience in the business and to one final year student or recent graduate.

Both recipients will receive:

  • Free or discounted entry to MPA training & professional development courses.
  • Invitations to MPA socials and quizzes.
  • £500 towards further training or professional career coaching of their choice.

For the final year student or recent graduate, the scholarship will also assist in securing a relevant work placement.

Full details of the scheme are now available on the MPA website, with entries closing on Friday 20th April 2018. The two successful applicants will be announced at the MPA AGM in July 2018.

Testimonials

Grace Roberts RTS 2016 recipient: “The RTS has been invaluable by giving me the opportunity to be in the same room as key people within the industry. The funding allowed me to attend key courses to develop my knowledge and build my confidence whilst other benefits of the scholarship included careers coaching, work placements and discounts to events. The support and guidance given by the team at the MPA has been outstanding and was pivotal in helping me start my career in music publishing.”

Levi Deeble RTS 2017 recipient: When I got the call inviting me to come down to London and accept the Richard Toeman Scholarship, I was completely taken aback. Receiving the RTS alongside the encouragement and guidance of the MPA team I am no longer clueless about the music publishing business…the MPA has given me the confidence to be myself and dive into the world of publishing.”
