Faber Music has created a new role within the Digital Department of our central London headquarters: ‘Print Licensing Specialist’.

This is an exciting time to join the company – the recent move to a new London office and acquisition of Manners McDade and Edition Peters print catalogue bring substantial commercial opportunities, whilst we continue to enjoy a fantastic response to our front-list of publications and a surge in digital activity.

The Print Licensing Specialist will be responsible for licensing out both physical and digital print rights to external clients from a wide range of industries and countries. You will liaise closely with the original publishers to obtain copyright clearances, negotiate terms and fees and administer contracts and invoices. You will support the Print Licensing Manager and Head of Digital Business Development to secure permissions for the use of third-party copyrights in Faber’s award-winning printed music and digital publications.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing incoming licensing requests
  • Researching copyright ownership on various industry databases
  • Loading and maintaining copyright information in Faber’s central database
  • Requesting copyright permissions on behalf of external and internal clients
  • Chasing permissions and communicating status updates
  • Negotiating terms and fees
  • Liaison with internal departments (Copyright, Royalties, Editorial)
  • Producing licence documents and invoices

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Considerable experience of licensing within the music industry (not necessarily print)
  • Organised multi-tasker who can effectively manage a busy schedule
  • Experienced administrator with meticulous attention to detail
  • Able to demonstrate excellent computer literacy
  • Exceptional communication/English language skills (written and spoken)
  • Solid basic maths skills
  • Confident deal negotiator
  • Ability to take the initiative when problems arise

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Interest in and knowledge of music
  • Knowledge of the UK major publishers’ catalogues
  • Experience of drafting business affairs documents

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full Time (35 hours) Monday to Friday
Salary: £30k
Location: Farringdon, Central London
Remote working: up to 40%
